PM&DC Requirements for MBBS in China 2026–2027

Looking for PM&DC-recognized Chinese medical universities in 2026–2027? The safest answer is not a copied list. PM&DC has changed how Pakistani students must verify foreign medical institutions, so recognition must be checked for the exact university, qualification and admission session before any fee is paid.

Is there a current PM&DC-recognized China university list?

PM&DC stated in a public notice dated 24 September 2024 that its foreign-institution list was valid for admissions only through the 2024–25 session and should not later be treated as a list of recognized institutions. It said revised accreditation criteria and a fresh list would apply from 2025–26. For 2026–2027 applicants, an old PDF, agent brochure or previous student’s eligibility is therefore not enough evidence.

PM&DC requirements for Pakistani students in 2026–2027

PM&DC’s May 2026 public notice and current foreign-admission policy guidelines require students to meet the following conditions:

• At least 60% marks in FSc Pre-Medical, or the applicable equivalent route.

• At least 50% marks in MDCAT for students who completed intermediate education in Pakistan, or the applicable foreign-test route under PM&DC policy.

• A PM&DC Student Registration Certificate obtained through the official online portal before proceeding abroad.

• An allopathic medical qualification awarded by an institution recognized by the relevant regulator in the country of origin.

• Verification that the institution meets the foreign-institution criteria stated by PM&DC, including the applicable ECFMG or World Directory requirements.

• A medical program comprising at least 6,200 hours over a minimum of five years, with at least 80% attendance.

• Compliance with the local-language requirement where the medium of education is not English.

• Passing the National Registration Examination (NRE) to obtain a licence in Pakistan after graduation.

• Compliance with PM&DC visa, residence and student-record requirements.

Three checks to complete before paying a university

1. Check PM&DC student eligibility and registration

Confirm your FSc or equivalent marks, MDCAT status and PM&DC Student Registration Certificate. Use the official registration portal at https://srf.pmdc.pk/login and keep the issued certificate with your admission record.

2. Check the exact university and qualification

Confirm the university’s exact legal name, campus, teaching hospital, degree title and program duration. Similar university names are not interchangeable. A listing for Hebei Medical University, for example, does not automatically apply to every institution containing the word “Hebei.”

3. Check China’s current English-taught clinical medicine approval

China’s Ministry of Education manages annual enrolment plans for undergraduate clinical medicine taught in English to international students. A university that is not on the applicable annual English-taught list should not be assumed to offer an English MBBS merely because it offered another medical or Chinese-taught program in the past. Verify the 2026–2027 intake directly with the university and current Ministry of Education material.

• Exact institution and campus name

• Exact degree and major shown on the admission letter

• Medium of instruction

• Program duration and total teaching hours

• Affiliated teaching hospital and clinical-rotation arrangements

• Current intake approval and international-student quota

• Recognition by the relevant Chinese authority

• Your PM&DC student-registration eligibility

• Refund terms if admission, visa or regulatory verification fails
